Uncubed Launches IBM Videos to Drive Millennial Tech Hires as Partnership Yields Its 100th Job Offer
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 15, 2016 -- Uncubed, a leading marketplace for recruiting talented millennials through compelling video content, announces today the launch of IBM Cognitive Solutions and Research videos on the Uncubed job platform. The launch coincides with IBM issuing its 100th job offer to Uncubed-sourced candidates.
“IBM is one of the most innovative companies the world has ever seen, and having them on our platform is a great opportunity for our community,” said Chris Johnson, CEO & Co-Founder of Uncubed.
Video is the latest evolution in the partnership. In 2014, IBM Watson first partnered with Uncubed to source and interview startup-inclined technical talent at NYC Uncubed, a high-energy conference with over 1,000 diverse attendees.
The relationship has since evolved into a large-scale hiring effort, through which Uncubed recently leveraged its online community and extensive college network to curate more than 1,000 eligible software engineers and data scientists to fill jobs across the country for the IBM Cognitive Solutions and Research team over the course of just three months.
“To be honest, I thought it would have been a long shot to be offered a job at an international tech giant like IBM, particularly given all of their recent advancements in cognitive computing,” said Mary Frances “Frankie” Zeager, a University of Virginia graduate student who recently accepted an offer as a Data Scientist with IBM Watson Health.
“I owe Uncubed for exposing me to and leading me through this exciting opportunity."
The IBM videos on the Uncubed platform feature current Cognitive Solutions and Research employees -- three of whom were hired from the Uncubed community including Phuc Anh Tran, Front End Developer, and Reah Miyara, Product Manager. Each video provides insight into a different aspect of working at the global tech leader, such as how to transition from an engineering role to a product management role and how to build an innovative work and developer culture, in order to attract and engage millennial applicants.
“All of our videos deliver insights and learnings. We built the platform on the belief that companies that deliver content of value win the best talent. To compete, you have to show people what you’re up to and who you are – telling them isn’t effective for this generation,” said Uncubed’s Johnson.
