NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) February 23, 2016 -- The Market Technicians Association (MTA), the governing body for the Chartered Market Technician ®(CMT) Program, is pleased to announce the 2016 Annual Award recipients. The MTA will celebrate the rich history of technical analysis and induct the 2016 Annual Award winner and fellow honorees throughout the 43rd Annual Symposium.

I am honored to be a part of a community making such great strides to advance the discipline of technical analysis” said Craig Johnson, CMT, CFA, who is the Senior Technical Market Strategist at Piper Jaffray, and President of the MTA Board of Directors.
Announcing the 2016 honorees:
• Annual Award: Louise Yamada, CMT
Louise Yamada, CMT is the Managing Director of Louise Yamada Technical Research Advisors (LYA) founded October 2005. Previously she was Managing Director and Head of Technical Research for Smith Barney (Citigroup), and while there, was a perennial leader in the Institutional Investor poll and the top-ranked market technician in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
The Annual Award will be presented by Gail Dudack, CMT at the symposium on Friday afternoon.
• Memorial Award: Paul Macrae Montgomery
Paul was a nationally-renowned forecaster of stock and bond markets who chose to stay put in his home town of Newport News, a serious student of statistics whose sense of the ridiculous led to his lighthearted discovery of the women's hemlines indicator of stock prices.
The Memorial Award will be presented by Robert Prechter, CMT at the symposium on Thursday morning.
• Service Award: Ron Meisels
Ron Meisels, Founder and President of Phases & Cycles Inc. is one of North America's most successful technical analysts with over 40 years of stock market experience.
The Service Award will be presented by Bruce Kamich, CMT at the symposium on Friday afternoon.
• Charles H. Dow Award: Charlie Bilello, CMT & Michael A. Gayed, CFA
Michael A. Gayed, CFA, is the Chief Investment Strategist at Pension Partners, LLC. Mr. Gayed helps to structure portfolios to best take advantage of various strategies designed to maximize the amount of time and capital spent in potentially outperforming investments. Charlie Bilello, CMT, is the Director of Research at Pension Partners, LLC. Mr. Bilello is responsible for strategy development, investment research and communicating the firm’s investment themes and portfolio positioning to clients.
The Charles H. Dow Award will be presented by Tim Hayes.
