Longtree & Associates Responds to Growth in Healthcare Field with Career-Building Courses in Nursing Home and Assisted Living Administration, Dementia Care Courses
Middletown, N.J. (PRWEB) February 12, 2016 -- The aging population and longer life spans of Americans is creating explosive growth in the field of long term care. With that, says Patrick Loughney, president of Longtree & Associates, LLC comes heightened demand for well-trained healthcare professionals in administrative roles in long term care environments. His company, which offers prep courses and workshops in long term care education, is now taking registrations for three career-building courses for licensed nursing home administrators (LNHAs), certified assisted living administrators (CALAs) and certified dementia care practitioners.
“There’s no question that with the growing and aging population in assisted living communities and nursing homes, demand is rising sharply for highly qualified, well trained health care professionals who want a career in long term care, particularly in administrative roles,” said Loughney. “For example, over eight million people are cared for in nursing home and long term care facilities in the U.S., and someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease every minute. So you can see, the need for their care is great.”
Registrations are now open for the following courses:
• CALA – Certified Assisted Living Administrator. This 56-hour course prepares students to successfully manage an assisted living or other related senior community. Successful completion prepares attendees to sit for the New Jersey Department of Health and Social Services (NJ DHSS) state exam. This comprehensive 100 hour preparation course, offered in 10 sessions each in March, July and November in Matawan, N.J., covers various aspects of regulatory compliance, Medicare/ Medicaid issues, personnel and records management, environment of care, accounting, and facility services.
