Through this activity, the managers learned what it really means to live out the company’s theme for the year, to “Be Legendary,” and to stand out as role models for the next generation of leaders.
PORTLAND, Ore. (PRWEB) April 06, 2017
Pacific Office Automation is excited to announce that its theme for 2017 is to “Be Legendary.” In its first event, over 100 managers from 8 states came together at the end of 2016 to build 21 new bikes for children in the Portland, OR area. The company’s goal is for all employees to stand out as leaders and positive influencers, both at work and in local communities. This initiative also includes hosting a summer golf tournament in Phoenix to show appreciation for 150 loyal customers and sponsoring a holiday toy drive in Portland to benefit thousands of deserving children and the organizations that support them.
Known for offering printers, copiers, and managed print services to a variety of businesses, Pacific Office Automation sponsors several charities across the West. Company leaders make it a part of their overall mission to pay it forward through community efforts throughout the year, such as this recent bike giveaway.
“It really has never been about the numbers for me,” said Doug Pitassi, Pacific Office Automation president. “The money shows up when you’re in the business world if you have every other element right."
At the end of the final meeting of 2016, after managers worked together to build bikes as a team building exercise, the kids who would be receiving the bikes surprised the managers and were surprised themselves, seeing that each of them would be going home with one of the 21 newly built bikes. The Pacific Office managers met each of the kids and found renewed motivation to give back after seeing their reactions to the new bikes. Through this activity, the managers learned what it really means to live out the company’s theme for the year, to “Be Legendary,” and to stand out as role models for the next generation of leaders.
“We always think of famous people as legendary,” said Pitassi. “My challenge for all POA employees is to recognize who sees them as legendary and to think about what their own legends will be.”
