'ClickUp' Gets New Multi-View Dashboard
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) February 08, 2017 -- ClickUp, a project management platform (https://www.clickup.com), is making a big bet on their latest creation – the Multi-View UI.
The interface works by structuring information in three layouts that are each designed to serve a certain set of functions.
Specifically, the startup wanted to collect the needs of different roles (for instance, project managers vs. designers) and present a solution aligned with those sets of problems.
Zeb Evans from ClickUp said, “The thinking behind the [organization] is that instead of pursuing a single solution and failing to do any specific thing well, we can offer several options that have different purposes. [As] long as it’s easy to toggle across the different options it’s a great way to serve different needs without making compromises”.
In short, the team believes that their Three Views, named the Board View, List View, and Box View respectively, will serve a foundational role in the platform they’re building.
The Board View will function as a simple Scrum board, the List View will help workers manage complex projects and tasks, and the Box View will speed things up for managers through smart consolidation.
No matter which board is being used, the same projects and tasks will be displayed. The benefit of having three ways of accessing your information is that you can organize it based on what you’re currently doing or based on which style you tend to prefer.
“We originally tried it out as a gimmick, but it instantly become one of the most used features internally. We starting playing with it and testing out different layouts and eventually ended up with the three we have now,” said Evans, CEO on the ClickUp team, “I’m sure it will evolve in the future, but even in it’s current form it is pretty great.”
ClickUp is launching March 1st, 2017 as a “developer first” project management platform.
