WPC Healthcare Recognized for Data Analytics Tool to Help with Early Identification of Sepsis

WPC was recognized for its work in developing the Sepsis Index through the company’s Condition Awareness Platform, which leverages artificial intelligence to effectively treat sepsis by identifying it early. For decades, clinical indicators have been the accepted method of detecting sepsis. But even when they are accurate, combinations of these traditional clinical indicators don’t trigger action quickly enough. The authors look at the evolving definition of sepsis over its long medical history, the controversy over the current definition of sepsis, and the development of a sepsis screening tool.
