Former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa Kevin Techau joins Scheldrup Blades Law Firm

Techau announced today his new role with Scheldrup Blades Law Firm as a shareholder and leader of the firm's Government Compliance and Internal Investigations Team, focusing on corporate compliance and government investigations.
Techau’s most recent service as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa came to an abrupt close last month with U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ call for the nationwide resignations of 46 U.S. Attorneys. Following his appointment by President Obama, Techau cultivated a formidable reputation in healthcare and financial services regulation, cyber security and risk management, which he now brings to Scheldrup Blades’ litigation, internal investigation and crisis management work.

In addition to serving as U.S. Attorney, Techau’s public career includes leadership of the Iowa Department of Public Safety and Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals. He served as a public defender in federal courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and staff judge advocate with the Iowa Air National Guard. His private practice included service as Associate General Counsel, American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company and as a trial attorney with Grefe & Sidney.
