Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 23, 2017 -- Next Money announced that for the first time their flagship 2017 North American event will be held in Chicago on September 26. Past Next Money events have been held in such global hubs as London, Singapore, Sydney, Hong Kong, Dubai, New York and Silicon Valley.
“We are excited to bring our biggest U.S. event to Chicago,” said Next Money Chairman, JP Nicols. “Chicago is one of North America’s financial capitals, and a burgeoning innovation center, recently recognized as a top 5 global Fintech hub by Deloitte.” In addition to keynotes and panels from the biggest influencers in Financial Technology, the event will also host the finals of the “Global Trends” division of BBVA’s Open Talent Competition in coordination with Chicago’s recently announced FinTech Center of Excellence called Currency.
“We are excited to once again partner with Next Money and host our Global Trends final at Next Money Chicago,” commented Marisol Menendez, Head of BBVA Open Innovation & Innovation Centers. “Our last few Open Talent finals held in partnership with Next Money have been very successful and we look forward to another great event.”
The event is being brought to Chicago in partnership with FinTEx Chicago, a collaboration between leading players in financial services and technology to expand Chicago’s role as a center of Innovation.
Next Money Chicago will focus on three major themes that are very timely and relevant for anyone in the financial services industry today: capabilities, compliance and collaboration.
The morning’s focus will be on the new capabilities required to win in this rapidly changing environment, including artificial intelligence, chatbots, open banking platforms, and distributed ledger technologies such as blockchain; and will feature a keynote from best-selling author Brett King, followed by a panel of industry experts.
Mid-day the spotlight will be on the need to balance creativity and innovation with compliance in the highly regulated financial services environment, featuring an enlightening keynote and a panel discussion of regulators and top RegTech experts.
The afternoon will be focused on how to drive effective collaboration between fintech companies and traditional financial services companies. The speakers and panelists will will engage in a spirited and lively debate on the best ways to reconcile the vastly different approaches and cultures of the two sides in order to drive real results.
Both the morning and afternoon will also feature demos from fintech start-ups seeking to transform the financial services industry by competing in the BBVA Open Talent Challenge. The winners will go on to compete in the finals in Mexico City for the chance to win €30,000 and an immersion and interaction week with BBVA executives in Madrid.
“We’re working closely with Next Money to create content in a unique format that helps shape the future of the industry,” added Jason Henrichs, FinTEx Chicago co-founder, who will also be a featured expert on stage. “The event brings the best and brightest to our vibrant community.”
The event will take place at Venue SIX10 on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. For more information, as well as to purchase super early-bird tickets (super early bird ends June 30), visit chi17.nextmoney.org
