Alkane Truck Company, the South Carolina-based assembler of alternative fuel vehicles, has announced it has inked a deal with Glen's Towing of Beckley, West Virginia, to begin assembly of vehicles immediately.

"An established and respected company, Glen's Towing has the facilities, staffing, equipment and financing to be a valuable and successful partner to Alkane," says Bob Smith, CEO of Alkane Truck Company. "They'll own 100% of their assembly facility; they'll be solely entitled to any state and local incentives offered to new business startups in their region and share with Alkane in the net revenue profits of each vehicle sold," says Bob Smith, CEO of Alkane Truck Company.

"We will provide training for their employees and have already begun delivering the components required to assemble our vehicles for direct shipment to existing dealerships. In the meantime, Alkane is concentrating on sales and marketing--growing our network of established dealerships across North America as well as pursuing direct sales to fleet owners," added Smith.

As part of the agreement, Glen's Towing will be entitled to use the Alkane brand name, Alkane's EPA, CARB, and DOT certificates as well as the company's supply chain to assemble and deliver its Class 7 and 8 trucks and the humvee-style Dominator™. They will maintain an inventory of parts while Alkane provides ongoing support and replacement parts.

This is the first time Alkane Truck Company has offered its streamlined business model to independent entrepreneurs. Already notable in the industry for eliminating the extraordinary costs involved in the setup of a standard manufacturing operation, Alkane is rolling out this expansion plan to accelerate its production timeline and respond to orders from its dealership network.

"Not a 'franchise' agreement but rather a simple contract, this is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in vehicle assembly to get into business with a modest investment and a direct impact on their return on investment," says Smith. "We look forward to a prosperous partnership with Glen's Towing and hope other small businesses across the country will see this for the unique opportunity it is."

He added, "Bringing an assembly facility into a community can have an incalculable economic impact--improving the quality of life of local residents, flooding cash into struggling existing companies and paving the way for new startups in ancillary businesses. These are high-paying, skilled jobs."
