After launching a unique content and experiential marketing agency in the heart of Chicago’s North Shore last week, event technology visionaries Jim Carlson and Duane Tornquist are kicking off business in a memorable way. On May 4, 2017, at 10 p.m. EST, Artists of the Industry (A of the I) Co-Founders Carlson and Tornquist will launch their new venture to the world using North America’s largest outdoor screen located on the side of the iconic Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York City.
The outdoor “Godzilla” digital 4K screen measures 15,000 square feet, 8 stories tall, and spans the entire block from 45th to 46th Streets on Broadway. The largest North American screen resides on the side of Host Hotels and Resorts-owned Marriott Marquis in Times Square and measures as large as an American football field.
A of the I will feature its produced content and give viewers a lens into the agency’s talents and expertise. The feature piece, shot on location in the Arizona Desert, will capture the journey, excitement, and the physical/virtual experience of driving a Lamborghini Huracán as well as a behind the scenes look into collaborative creation. A of the I will connect Times Square to the experience using the power of storytelling.
A of the I will highlight how its content is produced using its very own cultural values, or the six pillars of emotional connection. “As opposed to telling people what we do, we will do what we did best during our times at American Audio Visual Center (AAVC) in an emotionally intelligent way. We will bring what it is like to experience the brand to New York City’s big screen, so our viewers will see, hear, feel, think, dream, and trust like our team does everyday,” said Tornquist.
The promotional content will highlight several agency capabilities, including:
- Virtual/Augmented Reality (VR/AR)
- Motion graphics
- Original music composition
- On-location production
- Script to screen voice talent
- On-site editorial suites and recording studios
- Collaborative and locally sourced talent
After considering several cities for the launch, Carlson and Tornquist quickly realized that New York City was at the top of the list. “I have had a long-standing relationship with the Marriott Marquis Hotel during the days I owned my [former] company American Audio Visual Center. It is not a surprise to me that the heartfelt connection both Duane and I feel to New York City has brought us back here again to launch another adventure. We are ready, and we hope the Big Apple is, too,” said Carlson.
