Formula SAE Michigan Comes to Michigan International on May 10-13
DETROIT (PRWEB) May 08, 2017 -- SAE International’s Collegiate Design Competition, Formula SAE Michigan, will drop the green flag on Wednesday, May 10, and run through Saturday, May 13, at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich.
Formula SAE Michigan is the largest and longest running of SAE’s Formula events. There are two Formula events held annually in the United States and seven internationally. There will be 120 collegiate teams competing at the Michigan event.
Formula SAE is an engineering design competition in which teams of undergraduate and graduate students develop and build a single-seat race car for the best overall package of design, construction, performance and cost. Participants enhance their engineering design and project management skills by applying classroom theories in a challenging competition.
Formula SAE promotes careers and excellence in engineering as it encompasses all aspects of the automotive industry, including research, design, manufacturing, testing, developing, marketing, management and finances.
The highlight of the event is the endurance competition, which begins Saturday at 1:35 p.m.
