DOVER, N.H. (PRWEB) May 08, 2017 -- Measured Progress is pleased to welcome Stephen Murphy as Vice President, Measurement Services, and to announce the promotion of Justine Hargreaves to Vice President, Marketing. They join the executive leadership team reporting to Martin Borg, President and CEO, working cross-functionally to help define long-term strategy and to sustain the New Hampshire nonprofit’s delivery on its mission to improve teaching and learning.
Stephen Murphy holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. His distinguished record in educational assessment spans both operations and research. Beginning his career in research and psychometrics (the science of educational measurement), Murphy went on to assume leadership roles in K–12 assessment at both Pearson Education and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt – Riverside Publishing. His experience includes leading teams of researchers, psychometricians, and data analysts, as well as overseeing the development of products and solutions for national, state, and district assessment programs. He is a frequent journal contributor and presenter at national conferences for educational measurement and for industrial and organizational psychology. In his role at Measured Progress, Murphy will lead the groups responsible for all aspects of assessment design and development, including psychometrics, content development, publishing, and content management.
“I feel so fortunate to be here,” said Murphy. “I asked around when I was considering coming here, and found that Measured Progress has a tremendous reputation in the industry for its expertise, professionalism, and high-quality products. Another big draw for me was the company’s overarching commitment: ‘It’s All About Student Learning.’”
Murphy is relocating to seacoast New Hampshire from the Chicago area. “I grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and am an avid outdoors person. This area feels just like the coastal towns I spent my youth exploring, so coming here has a ‘welcome home’ feeling.”
Justine Hargreaves joined Measured Progress in 2014, becoming director of Marketing and Product Management in 2015, and was appointed vice president of Marketing in January 2017. A former teacher, Hargreaves came to Measured Progress after holding leadership and strategic roles in marketing and product management with a number of leading curriculum providers. In those roles, she had extensive interaction with district-level staff and classroom teachers, giving her a deep understanding of those audiences. In her new role overseeing the marketing, product management, and sales groups, she is strengthening the company’s focus on the district and classroom assessment markets, and increasing awareness of states’ changing assessment needs. Hargreaves holds a master’s degree from the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
“I love living here on the seacoast,” says Hargreaves. “Until I came to Measured Progress, I had to work remotely or endure long commutes in order to further my career. When I learned that the company’s mission and values lined up with my own, saw the beautiful campus, and met the people who work here, it was an easy decision to come to Measured Progress. Since then the company continues to impress me with its dedication to employees and our local community.”
“These two appointments to our leadership team illustrate what Measured Progress is all about,” said Borg. “We’re continually looking for outstanding staff members and leaders to help further our mission, whether seeking out experts from around the country or recognizing the strengths and capabilities of our current employees in New Hampshire and other locations. Both Stephen and Justine bring great experience, insight, and energy to our team.”
