Arnold Gordon, owner of Arlyn Scales and co-founder of Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) technology for Ultra Precision Scales, joins Forbes Technology Council as member and contributing writer.

Arnold Gordon (Arnie), owner and CEO of Arlyn Scales, recently became a member of Forbes Technology Council. As a member of the Forbes Technology Council, which is an invitation-only organization, Mr. Gordon is a part of an elite network of CIOs, CTOs, and technology executives, etc.

Members of the Forbes Technology Council are recognized as major contributors to the success and growth of their companies and impact in their industries. In 2015, Mr. Gordon introduced a brand new, breakthrough scale technology, known as Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) technology, which he offers in Arlyn Scale’s line of Ultra Precision Scales. This brand new technology is innovative for the industrial scale market because it delivers results that are more accurate than traditional industrial scales but the costs are still comparable.

“All scale manufacturers would like to be able to offer higher accuracy at similar costs,” Mr. Gordon said. “A number of manufacturers have tried to develop a new technology, but nothing yet has been successful. With the availability of SAW scales with higher accuracy, high capacity, and reasonable cost, customers’ requirements for higher accuracy can be satisfied.”

Mr. Gordon’s involvement in the development of SAW technology for industrial weighing scales, in addition to his expertise concerning various advanced scale technologies and over 30 years of business experience, is the main reason Mr. Gordon is a member of the Forbes Technology Council today.

Although Mr. Gordon does not envision SAW devices representing a large niche in the electronics industry, he knows it will encompass a specialized one. SAW technology was developed for weight transducers in industrial scales and the development of the technology will continue. This means the continuation of increased accuracy and lowering costs. SAW technology is already creating a niche for scale requirements that are more accurate than strain gage scales and less expensive than magnetic force restoration scales.

As a member of the Forbes Technology Council, Mr. Gordon contributes monthly Q&A prompts and in-depth articles to This allows Mr. Gordon to share his knowledge and expertise regarding technology and business with other business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. Mr. Gordon’s published work can be found on Forbes’ website.
