Villa Healthcare to Welcome David Devereaux as New COO
Skokie, IL (PRWEB) May 11, 2017 -- Villa Healthcare is set to welcome David Devereaux as its new Chief Operating Officer in early June. Devereaux has worked nearly 40 years in the skilled nursing field, starting as a housekeeper while in high school at a small nursing home and working his way up to President of the largest publicly held nursing home company in the United States.
“We are thrilled to welcome someone of David’s caliber onto the Villa team,” said Mark Berger, CEO at Villa Healthcare. “His unmatched experience and impressive track record will undoubtedly propel this company to new heights, while bolstering our core mission of making people better.”
Devereaux is well-known for his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Beverly Healthcare, where he was responsible for an operating budget of $2 billion annually and more than 700 skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Upon Devereaux’s departure, following the organization being acquired by Golden Living, Beverly Healthcare was slightly more than 400 facilities in size, yet experienced significant growth in revenue and earnings over his tenure along with improved operating metrics in patient care quality and people management.
“I’m looking forward to joining the Villa Healthcare team and I am energized by the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of Villa’s recent rebrand and ongoing innovations in the skilled nursing and long-term care space,” said Devereaux.
A co-owner of Express Transportation Holdings, LLC and an investor and director for Telemedicine Solutions, Inc., a Chicago-based company and creator of WoundRounds™, a technology-enabled solution that improves the process of wound care management, Devereaux brings an abundance of experience and insight to the Villa Healthcare team.
“David’s robust skill set and career history allow him to fully understand our industry from the bottom tier all the way to the top, making him an ideal sounding board, leader and decision maker,” said Berger.
Devereaux graduated from Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration and received his MBA in health administration from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He is active in the alumni organizations of his alma maters and a member of the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network.
Devereaux is also on the Chair of the College of Health Professions Board of Visitors and a member of the President’s Advisory Board at Temple University. In 2012 Devereaux was awarded Temple’s Distinguished Alumni Award, recognizing his career accomplishments and service to the university.
