San Pedro Fish Market ‘Supertray’ Video Goes Viral On Foodbeast, Garners 34 Million Views and Tens of Thousands of Orders
San Pedro, CA (PRWEB) May 12, 2017 -- Hot on the heels of the San Pedro Fish Market’s online reality series, Kings of Fi$h, winning major awards for excellence at film festivals and Internet organizations, the Market’s partnership with Foodbeast led to tens of thousands of visitors all demanding the same thing, the seafood “Supertray.”
“For over a decade, we have been blessed to be featured in nearly a dozen shows on the Food Network, Travel Channel and others,” said Mike Ungaro, Vice President, San Pedro Fish Market. “Then we partner with Foodbeast and their fans flood the market with tens of thousands of requests for our ‘Supertray’.”
Backing up traffic onto the Vincent Thomas Bridge and the 110 freeway during an unprecedented midweek rush, Foodbeast fans came to see the world famous seafood “Supertray” featured in the episodes of Kings of Fi$h. The Supertray features a whole lobster, shrimp, crab, and a flash fried fish, all chosen by the group ordering the tray and served family style for sharing.
“For over 60 years, we have been introducing Angelenos to some of the best seafood in the world,” continued Ungaro. “Foodbeast and its incredible fans, especially when they show up by the tens of thousands, are adventurous and interested to try new tastes and dishes, so this has been awesome.”
During the introduction of Kings of Fi$h on Foodbeast, San Pedro Fish Market, America’s largest fish market & restaurant, worked to prepare staff and partners for even higher than normal volume at the market and in orders for the Supertray.
“While we thought we were prepared, and had plenty of great seafood, nothing can prepare you for Foodbeast’s fans descending by the thousands day after day,” said Mike Ungaro. “We’re fortunate to have seating for 3,000 so we have the room to accommodate everyone, but it has been a great time every day with the Foodbeast fans. One guy drove for seven hours from Sacramento yesterday just to order a Supertray and deliver back to his family in Sacramento. Foodbeast fans are awesome!”
Kings of Fi$h, which is finishing production on the third season of the reality series, is being previewed currently online. The season will outline the crush of Foodbeast fans at the market and the challenges presented when 20,000 people want the same viral food at once.
“If you were one of the many who came to the market after seeing the food on Foodbeast, you will recognize all of the fun,” explained Mike Ungaro. “A lot of the action has been captured in Kings of Fi$h, so stay tuned and join us to get the party rolling.”
