Analyzing weather data across 10 years, SaveOnEnergy uncovers the U.S. cities with the most and least predictable weather.

If you find yourself cursing the randomness of the weather in your city, this new study from SaveOnEnergy will confirm your feelings of frustration.

SaveOnEnergy determined the cities with the most and least predictable weather by combining temperature, rainfall, snowfall and wind data from Weather Underground from the 200 most populated cities in America.

The obvious trend was that the top 10 most unpredictable cities are located the midwest. Temperature deviation was the most telling variable with Sioux Falls, S.D. sometimes hitting lows below negative 10 degrees in winter and highs nearing 100 degrees in the summer.

Aside from temperature, unpredictability of rainfall, wind and even snowfall put these cities in the top 10 for the most unpredictable weather:

1. Sioux Falls, SD
2. Minneapolis, MN
3. St. Paul, MN
4. Omaha, NE
5. Des Moines, IA
6. Madison, WI
7. Lincoln, NE
8. Cedar Rapids, IA
9. Rockford, IL
10. Chicago, IL

On the other end of the spectrum, the sunny skies of Hawaii and California brought the most predictable weather. The top 10 cities with the most predictable weather were:

1. Honolulu, HI
2. Oxnard, CA
3. Chula Vista, CA
4. Salinas, CA
5. San Diego, CA
6. Thousand Oaks, CA
