Intalere Names Proven Sales Leader Barton Schmitz Executive Vice President of Sales

As executive vice president, Sales, Schmitz will provide executive leadership, strategic direction and administration to the sales teams and business partners of Intalere with a focus on strategic business development. Schmitz will support Intalere’s mission and operations by enhancing collaboration, innovation, respect and accountability, and will have primary responsibility for developing and supporting short- and long-term economic sustainability to ensure the financial viability of the company.
In his previous position as vice president, Non-Acute Care and National Accounts, Schmitz had operational responsibility for developing the strategic direction of the Non-Acute Care program for Intalere, including managing three Non-Acute Care sales teams (East/West/Inside Sales), National Accounts and Customer Service. He was also responsible for interfacing and coordinating activities with multiple business units in the development and implementation of the Non-Acute Care strategy and managing the integration of Non-Acute Care with the Acute Care Sales leadership for owned and managed alternate site locations.
Schmitz joined Intalere from Sunrise Medical, where he served as vice president, Sales Operations, and had responsibility for selling medical devices (wheelchairs). He previously worked at Cardinal Health in various roles including vice president, National Accounts and Health Systems and director, Sales Operations. Earlier in his career, Schmitz served as a sales representative for Allegiance Healthcare and as an Emergency Room nurse and paramedic.
Schmitz holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas and an associate degree in Health Science from Brigham Young University in Idaho.
