Greenberg Traurig’s Leslie Katz to Speak on California’s Public Trust Doctrine at Real Estate Roundtable
(PRWEB) May 24, 2017 -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’sLeslie R. Katz will speak at the Real Estate Roundtable – “The Public Trust Doctrine in California Law: What it Means for the Future of the San Francisco Waterfront” – at The City Club of San Francisco, June 8 from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Katz, a shareholder in the firm’s San Francisco office and the Commissioner of the San Francisco Port Commission, will discuss how the Public Trust Doctrine impacts and plays a role in the progress of waterfront developments. Katz was appointed to the Port Commission by Mayor Edwin M. Lee in 2011 and served as President from 2014-2015.
Katz focuses on government law and policy, including energy, telecommunications, healthcare, emerging technology, land use, construction, infrastructure, development, and public-private partnerships. Her ability to provide strategic counsel for startups to Fortune 500 companies and public entities comes from her diverse experience in the public and private sectors. Katz is also very involved in the local Bay Area community and was recently recognized among the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times.
A former member of the Board of Supervisors for the City and County of San Francisco, Katz serves on numerous community and non-profit organizations including the Victory Campaign Board, Equality California Institute and New Leaders Council. She was also elected to the San Francisco Community College Board of Trustees. Katz earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
