All Executive Directors at Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA) to Earn Certified Director of Assisted Living (CDAL) Credentials
VERO BEACH, Fla. (PRWEB) May 25, 2017 -- Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), a regional senior living development and operating company based in Vero Beach, announces plans for all its executive directors to earn Certified Director of Assisted Living (CDAL) credentials. In order to receive this certification, executive directors must meet eligibility criteria and pass an examination administered by the Senior Living Certification Commission (SLCC), an independent, non-profit organization. HRA has 25 communities with 10 more in development. The goal is to have all executive directors certified by the end of 2017.
“This internal push to get all of our executive directors certified is part of our commitment to providing our residents and their families with the very best in senior living,” said Sarabeth Hanson, Chief Operating Officer of HRA. “This certification will help us to further elevate the high standards of excellence we strive for every day in our communities nationwide.”
The CDAL examination is designed to measure judgment, application of knowledge, and problem-solving abilities. It is comprised of questions in the following knowledge domains: Principles and Philosophy of Assisted Living; Resident Care and Services; Customer Experience; Leadership; Operations Management; Regulatory Compliance; Sales and Marketing; and Financial Management.
“In each of our communities, we entrust our executive directors to help us build upon our core values of respect, attentiveness, integrity, stewardship and excellence,” said Hanson. “We believe these certifications will help to enrich the skills of each one of our carefully chosen executive directors.”
To date, nine of HRA’s executive directors have begun the certification process. Erica Cohen, Executive Director of HarborChase of Tamarac, Veronica Yestrumskas, Executive Director of HarborChase of Coral Springs, and Leonard Gibson, Executive Director of HarborChase of Auburn Hills, have all three received the certification. By the end of 2017, HRA hopes to have the rest of its executive directors certified as well.
HRA is committed to anticipating the needs of a new generation of seniors. All communities feature HRA’s signature Life Enrichment Program, designed to provide social, devotional, fitness and recreational opportunities that have a positive impact on residents. Typical HRA community features include full-service dining, housekeeping and laundry services, and a dedicated staff of nurses available 24 hours a day.
