Securly Exceeds 10% Market Share in Several States Across the Country

Securly, Inc. – the world's leading cloud-based provider of Internet security for K-12 schools – today announced that the company had established a customer footprint in 40 out of the 50 states in the United States.

States, where the company has more than 10% market share, include Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas and Rhode Island. States, where the company has more than 5% market share, include Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Virginia.

The pain of appliance-based web filters is most common in larger districts where the web-filtering setup is often the most complex aspect of the data-center footprint. Large districts introducing 1:1 device programs are forced to buy multiple appliances and load balancers to support filtering. In a sign that larger customers recognize the ability of a cloud-based solution to solve this pain, Securly's sales pipeline includes several service centers, larger districts, and state level contracts.

Larger districts and service centers that have come on board this year alone include Texas' Education Service Center 18 (70K users over 30+ districts) and Independence School District, Missouri (18K users). Multi-year renewals from Lee's Summit School District, Missouri, and Aspire Public Schools (one of the largest Charter Management Organizations in the nation with 40+ schools) are indicative of the longevity of Securly's web-filtering as a service model and reflect the company's ability to address customer pain points well beyond an initial contract period.

Smaller districts reported notable benefits during implementation as well. The company found that in these smaller districts IT resources are constrained. Therefore a simple web-filtering setup was attributed to the company’s success with smaller districts.
