Weekend schedule features 4 televised games and streaming live on YurView

YurView, an exclusive regional network available to Cox video customers, announced its first weekend of GameTime high school football coverage. The season kicks off Thursday, September 24th with a match-up between two Arizona schools - Mesa Mountain View vs. Surprise Valley Vista. The game is available to all Cox subscribers. Regional action begins Friday, September 25th with games in Oklahoma (Owasso vs. Jenks), Louisiana (Fontainebleau vs. Live Oak) and Nebraska (Creighton Prep vs Omaha Westside). Regional games will be televised in specific regions, and all games will stream live to everyone on GameTime features 15 weeks of football action and over 50 games with top teams and players across Cox markets. Here is an overview of this weekend’s games:

Mountain View vs. Valley Vista (Arizona)

Overview: The Toros of Mesa Mountain View own the most big-school state championship titles in state history - eight. Under second year head coach Mike Fell, Mountain View looks to improve upon a 7-4 season a year ago. The Toros bring back junior Jacobby Dinwiddie, who caught 70 passes for over 1,000 yards in 2016. Leading the defense is Jr. middle linebacker Jeremiah Hollen. The Monsoons of Valley Vista won 7 games in 2016 under coach Josh Sekoch and made the playoffs for the fourth time in six seasons. Senior running back Ray Baquero broke out in 2016 with 1218 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns. Senior Offensive Tackle Dallas Pena is getting looks from several colleges. Senior linebacker Christian Alvarado leads the defense.

Owasso vs. Jenks (Oklahoma)

Overview: Owasso is looking to get back on the winning track after a disappointing 3-7 record in 2016. The Rams welcome new head coach Bill Blankenship who returns to Oklahoma high school football for the first time since 2005. He built Union into a 6A power, winning state championships in 2002, 2004 & 2005. He has also been head coach at the University of Tulsa and won a state championship last year at Fayetteville, Arkansas. Two stars for Owasso will be Defensive Backs Josh Proctor (committed to Ohio State) and Wayne Jones (committed to Kansas State). Jenks was the 6A Division 1 runner up a year ago. Under Coach Alan Trimble, the Trojans have won 13 state championships. Offensively they return Junior Quarterback Ian Corwin who set the single season record with 2,993 yds passing. The defensive is led by linebacker Mitchell Kulkin.

Fountainbleau vs. Live Oak (Live Oak Jamboree - Louisiana)

Overview: The 2017 YuvView Louisiana GameTime season begins with the Live Oak Jamboree, a pre-season matchup of two Class 5A teams who made the playoffs last year and hope to make a deep run in the postseason this year. Live Oak High School was scheduled to host last year’s jamboree, but historic flooding in Livingston Parish forced the re-location of the contest to Mandeville, home of the Fontainebleau Bulldogs. Proceeds from the game went to Live Oak High School to help with flooding relief. Last year, Live Oak went 6-4 in the regular season and hosted a 1st round playoff game for the first time in school history. Fontainebleau won five of its first seven games last season to secure a playoff spot. The Bulldogs season ended with a loss to eventual 5A state champion Landry-Walker.

Creighton Prep vs Omaha Westside (Nebraska)

Overview: The Creighton Prep Junior Jays travels to take on the Omaha Westside Warriors for an opening season non-conference game. Last season, Creighton Prep ended with an impressive 9-3 record while Omaha Westside went 5-5.
