Lenox Corporation: New S&OP Platform to Drop Inventory levels by 3% to 5%
Cary, N.C. (PRWEB) August 23, 2017 -- Dinnerware maker Lenox Corporation has set the table for business optimization with Vanguard Software. The company picked Vanguard’s cloud platform to automate and improve forecasting and planning while optimizing inventory management and other global business processes.
Lenox was established in 1889 and is today the only U.S.-based manufacturer of bone china. The company sells dinnerware, giftware, and a host of co-branded home-decor products, both online and through brick-and-mortar retail chains.
David Desiderio, Lenox Vice President, Finance for Marketing & Planning, said the company selected Vanguard based on its ability to meet core functionality requirements, and to integrate with existing data systems. Ease-of-use and system flexibility were also major considerations, he said.
Specifically, Lenox will use Vanguard to automate forecasting while utilizing the platforms pre-built advanced analytics to improve forecast accuracy. Once implemented, Lenox expects to leverage out-of-the-box analytic functionality to drive future inventory investments.
Additionally, the company will use Vanguard to optimize inventory levels, including at branded retail locations. Many of the company’s products are highly seasonal, or have short-life cycles. Therefore, Lenox plans to make full use of Vanguard’s array of forecast methods, including time-series, spread-curve, supersession, and comparables forecasting.
Desiderio said he fully expects Vanguard to reduce company-wide inventory levels by 3% to 5%, improve customer service levels, increase inventory effectiveness, and increase forecast accuracy and accountability.
Moreover, “the new system will foster the development of standard practices, tools, and language across all business channels,” he said.
