Tight end Glenn Beal, who is a top prospect by LSU, and wide receiver Tyrone Legette round out the offense. On defense Brandon Davis, one of the state’s top defensive backs, returns to lead the Patriots for his senior season.
Deer Creek vs. Southmoore (Oklahoma)
When: Thursday, August 31st @7pm (CST)
Where to watch: YurView OK Ch. 333/1333(HD), streaming live at yurview.com.
Overview: Deer Creek Antlers travel to Southmoore to take on the SaberCats. Former Norman North coach Wade Standley takes over at Deer Creek and will try to get the Antlers to rebound after a 2-8 season last year, their first year in 6A-II. Senior QB Hunter Freese will be called upon to lead the offense. Several players return on the defensive side of the ball led by seniors Drew O'Hara and Griff Stanley. The Southmoore Sabercats find themselves in a rebuild mode after a record of 6-5 last season. Coach Jeremy Stark says the guys he has now will play more for the team than themselves and is looking forward to the challenge. The quarterback battle will be between junior Donovan Gaines and sophomore Jaedyn Scott with Rae' Quan Wicks expected to get plenty of touches out of the backfield. The defense will be led by senior linebacker Jared Spradling and Brian Shomali.
Midwest City vs. Booker T. Washington (Oklahoma)

Where to watch: YurView OK Ch. 333/1333(HD), streaming live at yurview.com.
Overview: Two contenders for the Oklahoma State 6A Div. 2 title meet when Midwest City takes on Booker T Washington. Midwest City finished last season with a 7-4 record and is led on defense by defensive end Jalen Redmond. He had 14 sacks and 86 tackles a year ago and is committed to the University of Oklahoma. Preston Colbert starts at QB and threw for over 1500 yards and a dozen touchdowns last year. The Bombers are coached by Darrell Hall for Booker T. Washington, who had a 6-5 record last season. Antlers Quarterback Phillip Wheatley returns and running Back Rylan McQuarters is the son of former Hornet and NFL star R.W. McQuarters. The Defense is led by linebacker Jason Harris and Defensive back Dax Hill, who has football scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Michigan, Ohio State and Alabama. Coach Brad Calip leads the Hornets in his second season as coach.
Desert Vista vs. Basha (Arizona)
When: Friday, September 1st @7pm (PST)
Where to watch: YurView AZ Ch. 4/1004 HD (Phoenix) and 7/1007 HD (Tucson), streaming live at yurview.com
Overview: Two very talented squads looking to improve on what both teams would call underachieving seasons a year ago. Desert Vista, under head coach Dan Hinds, will return a solid core of players from last year’s team that advanced to the second round. Big play receiver Keshaud White is back and James Stagg is a division 1 recruit at both tight end and defensive end. Basha was a disappointing 3-8 a year ago. New coach Rich Wellbrock will look to shore up a defense that gave up points a plenty in 2016. The Bears averaged over 33 points per game but gave up 49. Coach Wellbrock is confident in junior to be signal caller, Collin Collins. The sophomore completed 66.7% of his passes for over 500 yards and 5 TDs while rushing for another 339. Look for Collins to get on the radar of colleges. On the Defensive side, Kenric Jameison tallied 78 tackles and 5 picks his sophomore year.
Millard North vs. Millard West (Nebraska)
When: Friday, September 1st @7pm (CST)
Where to watch: Omaha NE – Ch. 13/1013 HD (CST), Macon GA – Ch. 96/1096 HD (EST), Sun Valley CA – Ch. 13/1013 HD (MST), Connecticut - Ch. 128/1128 HD (EST), Cleveland OH – Ch. 63/1063 HD (EST), Gainesville/Ocala FL - Ch. 15/1015 HD (EST), Holland, MA – Ch. 02/1128 HD (EST), and streaming live at yurview.com.
Overview: It's a rematch of the 2015 state championship game when Millard North takes on Millard West. The crosstown rivals are nearly always in the top 10, perhaps due to the consistency of their respective head coaches. Millard West's Kirk Peterson enters his 14th season, while Millard North's Fred Petito patrols the sidelines for the 34th year. Between the lines, both defenses will have their hands full with the opposing running back. Millard West's Brody Belt returns from a 2016 campaign that saw him gain more than 1,300 yards, while Millard North fullback Noah Mick reeled off more than 1,400 yards.
Central @ Dunham (Louisiana)
When: Friday, September 1st @7pm (CST)
Where to watch: YurView LA - Ch. 4(SD)/1004(HD), streaming live at yurview.com.
