Blubrry Cuts Ties with White Supremacist, Chris Cantwell
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) August 29, 2017 -- Blubrry, the popular podcast-hosting site, has taken a stand against hate by distancing itself from notorious “white nationalist”, Chris Cantwell. Cantwell was recently recognized as a key individual involved with the violent protests in Charlottesville, VA. He has since turned himself into the University of Virginia police, where he’s being held on two counts of illegal use of tear gas and other gases and one count of malicious bodily injury by means of a caustic substance,
both felonies.
Once his involvement was made known, Blubrry was quick to act. While Cantwell’s content was not hosted in connection with the site, his utilization of their stats service placed their branding on links leading directly to his content, not at all in line with the fundamental values of the Blubrry brand.
"After review, we determined that his content violated our terms of service. We terminated his account and blocked his utilization of our stats service, which is currently preventing his media from being accessed,” explained Blubrry CEO, Todd Cochrane, “Our stance is clear; we will not support hate or violence against others.”
