Ascend Clinical Research is set up to provide lean product-to-market clinical research capabilities, including healthcare analytics and data, to companies that want to outsource clinical trial and other research support services.
Dayton, OH (PRWEB) August 30, 2017
Ascend Innovations, in partnership with the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA) and Kaleidoscope, is expanding its service offerings to include clinical research through a new organization, Ascend Clinical Research LLC.
As a clinical research organization, Ascend Clinical Research LLC provides research support to medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers. It improves community health by helping put new treatment options into the hands of healthcare professionals to improve the health of patients. The firm also procures healthcare analytics, including patient data for future and retrospective trialing, and for organizations seeking a cross-section of diverse patient data.
The business plan to launch the clinical research organization was developed by Mark Wysong, president and owner of a private consulting firm. Wysong’s background includes senior leadership roles in clinical research, electronic health records, big data, data analytics and technology development for both industry partners and the Air Force Research Laboratory. He provides fundamental insights into the healthcare/medical technology industry’s current-day needs.
“We have markets ripe with opportunity and organizations that are in need of solutions to efficiently move their ideas from concept and clinicals to approvals and manufacturing,” Wysong said. “We are set up to provide lean product-to-market clinical research capabilities, including healthcare analytics and access to patient data, to companies or teams who want or need to outsource clinical trial and other research support services.” The organization’s large site network of diverse patients and highly experienced clinicians in a wide variety of therapeutic areas is also appealing to medical device/technology and pharmaceutical companies, Wysong noted.
GDAHA president and CEO Bryan Bucklew concurred, “This is a well thought-out and strategic addition to the offerings that we and our partners at Ascend Innovations and Kaleidoscope can offer to the healthcare and medical technology market.”
The clinical research organization addresses a pressing need in the region, said Matt Kornau, CEO of Kaleidoscope. “Our clientele seeks more and better ways to get their preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic products into the hands of healthcare professionals so they can improve the lives of their patients. Be it medical devices, pharmaceuticals or other modalities, by establishing Ascend Clinical Research, we can help them deliver their solutions in a timely and efficient manner.”
“Ascend Innovations is poised to connect physicians, researchers, scientists, designers and engineers with innovators, inventors and developers,” said Rick Peters, CEO of Ascend Innovations. “We have the infrastructure, methodology and resources in place to support the clinical research organization and its clients so they can deliver the best results.”
Ascend Clinical Research LLC is located in Tech Town, Dayton’s state‐of‐the‐art and centrally located tech business campus, where Ascend Innovations and GDAHA are also housed.
