Florida Roofing Contractor Donates to Houston Non-Profit in the Wake of Hurricane Harvey
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 07, 2017 -- High-volume roofing contractor, Jasper Contractors, Inc. donates $25,000 to the Houston Humane Society after Hurricane Harvey hit southeast Texas on Aug. 25.
The Weather Channel recapped the impact of the hurricane stating that Harvey made landfall as a Category 4 Hurricane with winds of 130 miles per hour. Many were forced to leave their homes and belongings to seek dry shelter. As evacuations and rescues occurred, many pets were left behind. Luckily there are organizations such as the Houston Humane Society that are able to provide shelter for animals that were separated from their loved ones.

According to the Houston Humane Society’s website, they do not receive federal, state, or local government funding and rely solely on donations, program services, and special events. Leading up to Hurricane Harvey, the organization was able to clear the shelter to allow space for Harvey survivors. Although the hurricane has passed, funding is still needed for the humane society’s life-saving efforts.
