PRECO Electronics’ Suite of Safety Solutions Displayed at WASTECON 2017
Boise, ID and Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) September 25, 2017 -- PRECO Electronics®, the global leader in medium- and heavy-duty collision avoidance solutions, today announced its involvement in this year’s premiere international solid waste conference, WASTECON® 2017. Located in Booth #1408, PRECO will be displaying its PreView® Sentry, Side Defender, PreView® Plus, as well as its cache of new camera and monitor offerings. The combination of PRECO’s flexible radar systems monitors blind spots on the rear and sides vehicle, and actively warns operators with audible and visual alerts to help avoid potential collisions – improving operational safety and efficiency.
WASTECON® 2017, hosted by the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), is concurrently taking place this year with the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) World Congress at the Baltimore Convention Center September 25-27th.
The waste and recycling industry is particularly susceptible to severe accidents, resulting in property damage, injuries and even loss of life. In the first six months of 2017 alone, SWANA reported that 51 people lost their lives in solid waste-related incidents, including 15 employees and 36 members of the public. The repercussions from these accidents can be significant, considering costs associated with legal fees, vehicle repairs, and insurance premiums. Additionally, considering waste and recycling companies’ unique relationship with the public, accidents can have a lasting negative impact on company goodwill and public image.
Dave Biderman, SWANA CEO and Executive Director shared, “PRECO continues to be an ally of SWANA and a valuable partner to the waste and recycling industry. I am looking forward to sharing the stage with PRECO and other key industry executives to ensure that the audience is well versed in what is available from an education and technology perspective and the value it means to improve safety onsite. By eliminating blind spots and actively engaging operators, the industry is going to be safer for both workers and the public.”
PRECO is focused on educating the market about safety, providing the latest collision avoidance technology and helping organizations become more efficient. Attendees at this year’s WASTECON event will recognize PRECO’s involvement in multiple areas, including:
• PRECO is the proud sponsor of the 2017 SWANA Safety Awards. Aligned closely to PRECO’s mission, these awards celebrate organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to safety through thoughtful and original safety initiatives. The award winners will be recognized at the Safety Super Session on Wednesday, September 27th.
• Wednesday, September 27th from 8:30-10:30 am: David Biderman will host a conversation with Tom Loutzenheiser of PRECO Electronics and other safety leaders to examine the latest advances in technologies, and the ways companies and local governments can best use these technologies to reduce accidents and injuries, and improve their employee training.
“We are seeing great demand for our entire suite of solutions in the waste and recycling industry both here and abroad,” said Tom Loutzenheiser (@tomlout), Vice President of Business Development at PRECO. “PRECO’s flexible safety solutions can be integrated with telematics applications, vision systems, LED mirror indicators, or other sensors using industry standard communications. We are excited to participate at this year’s conference and share the impact that safety plays in everyday operations.”
