A group of Tata & Howard employee-owners ran the virtual 5K together
At Tata & Howard, we stand firm in our commitment to consistently give back to the local and global community.
MARLBOROUGH, MA (PRWEB) October 03, 2017
Tata & Howard, Inc., a leading innovator in water, wastewater, stormwater, and environmental engineering solutions, sponsored a virtual 5K that raised $1,000 for the Navajo Water Project, a subsidiary of DIGDEEP that works to provide safe, accessible drinking water to Native Americans living in Navajo Nation. Participants were able to complete the race in their own time and space over the summer, after which they received a custom-designed medal featuring a dragonfly, the Navajo symbol of pure water. The event was organized by the firm’s Philanthropy Committee with the support of DIGDEEP.
“At Tata & Howard, we stand firm in our commitment to consistently give back to the local and global community,” stated Karen L. Gracey, P.E., Co-President. “As a niche water firm focused on supporting water projects in our local community, we feel strongly called to aid the Navajo Water Project in their effort to bring clean, safe drinking water to those living in water poverty in Navajo Nation.”
“Since learning of the extreme water poverty affecting Navajo Nation, this is the third fundraising event we have held in support of the Navajo Water Project,” added Jenna W. Rzasa, P.E., Co-President. “The lifesaving mission and tireless efforts of the Navajo Water Project have helped countless Navajo residents, and we are honored to contribute to this worthy organization.”
About DIGDEEP
DIGDEEP is not a water charity, but a human rights non-profit working to ensure that every American has clean, running water forever. In places without clean, running water or basic plumbing, they empower American communities to build and manage low-cost systems that bring safe, hot and cold water into homes, schools, and community centers. Their water projects are community led, and designed to measurably improve human rights standards like health, gender equity, and economic development. In places that already have access to water, DIGDEEP designs experiences that help Americans form a deep and lasting connection to the water we often take for granted. They invest in curricula, brand partnerships, events, and digital activations to help people better understand and care for our water resources, making them last.
