Some assume success is a matter of money, power or fame. To Dionne Lamont, the definition of success is more subjective, stating that achievement stems from personal goals, trials and tribulations.
For women in particular, realization seems to be harder to come by, as unique challenges are naturally placed in their path. Author and Minister Dionne Lamont examines what success is– especially for women of the church – in her new book “Public Success, Private Struggle.”
“Public Success, Private Struggle” explores what it truly means to be successful, asserting that real success stems from personal achievements. Lamont explores private human strives - particularly those encountered by females in ministry—and the challenges women in leadership face, such as the pressure to maintain their femininity in a secular profession while being true to the call of God.
“I know the burden of having to be constantly ‘right’ and never make an error or a mistake,” Lamont said. “Public Success, Private Struggles aims to unveil the vulnerability leaders experience in their daily life. It also explores our human tendency to focus on outward appearances, rather than truthfully sharing out misgivings and shortcomings – a common flaw in leadership.”
Equipped with scriptures, “Public Success, Private Struggle,” provides an inside look at the pressures of leadership’s public lifestyle – particularly the life of Christian female leaders. For more information, please visit http://www.publicsuccessprivatesturggle.com.
