.boston Domain Names are Now Available to All Boston Residents and Businesses

City Hall, Cambridge Innovation Center, Boston Duck Tours and others celebrate launch day, Boston style.

MMX and its partners from the City of Boston gathered in City Hall plaza this morning to celebrate the official launch of .boston domains.

All Boston residents and businesses can now register their personalized .boston web address by visiting http://www.hub.boston, along with other popular partner registrars such as GoDaddy, Hello and EnCirca. Domain names are available on a first come, first served basis.

“We’re excited to join the team at Boston City Hall and their colleagues from the Innovation and Technology department in welcoming the general availability of .boston domains,” said Solomon Amoako, VP of Channel Strategy at MMX. “Whether you're a local business, or simply a passionate Bostonian, .boston domains are the best way to show your Boston pride online, enhance your branding and make your business more discoverable!”

Local business icon Boston Duck Tours is among the first companies to go live with a .boston domain and is joining in the celebration of the launch by helping the .boston team transport free domains to deserving businesses around the city on a “Rolling Rally”.
