Co-author of “Releasing Leadership Brilliance: Breaking Sound Barriers in Education” Will Share How Educators Can Use the Forces of Flight to Transform Schools

Simon T. Bailey, co-author of Releasing Leadership Brilliance: Breaking Sound Barriers in Education, is a speaker at Tedx Chatham-Kent on Thursday, October 19 at the Chatham Capitol Theatre in Chatham, Ontario. His talk, “Be the Boom! Breaking Sound Barriers in Education,” will share the ways educators can use the four forces of flight – weight, lift, thrust and drag – to transform schools from places that just keep students out of trouble during the day to empowered education communities.

Building on the ideas in his new book, co-authored with educational leadership coach Marceta F. Reilly, Bailey will demonstrate that when all leaders understand these forces, they can create a new sound, and become the breakthrough in their schools, communities, and nation. He will share proven methods that have been used to move high-poverty schools from barely functioning to a culture of excellence where all students can release their brilliance.

Releasing Leadership Brilliance builds on Bailey’s earlier work, Release Your Brilliance, published by HarperCollins. Its premise is that every person is a diamond in the rough with their potential locked in a vault. Readers learn the combination to their hidden genius and how to reveal it to the world. His most recent book, Shift Your Brilliance: Harness the Power of You, Inc., teaches individuals and organizations how to take control of the steering wheel of uncertainty and create the future.

Bailey is the CEO of Simon T. Bailey International, a premium education company specializing in creating learning and development content for individuals and organizations. He is the former sales director of the Disney Institute and his popular LinkedIn Learning/ courses have been viewed over 600,000 times by people in a 100 countries.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
