On October 20th Sim Shalom Synagogue brings its Friday night Blessings of the Animals service to Nashville.

The Blessing of the Animals fosters the loving relationship between all G–d's creatures.

On Friday night, October 20th Rabbi Steve Blane of Sim Shalom Online Synagogue will provide sustainance to both humans and animals with a joyful and musical service live from Nashville. Joined by Union of Jewish Universalists Communities (UJUC) co-Founder Rabbi Nancy Tunick, the service, streamed online, will seek to honor all of G-ds creatures as mentioned in the portion of the bible read this week, Noah. Affiliated and unaffiliated congregants from around the globe can celebrate their beloved animal companions, small and large, with an interactive blessing service simply by clicking on http://www.simshalom.com the world's only E- Synagogue at 7:00pm EST.

The Blessing of the Animals fosters the loving relationship between all G–d's creatures. Animals are widely recognized as helping and supporting humans and it is imperative in G-ds plan that we care for them. According to Blane, holding the blessing service at the beginning of the Jewish new year reaffirms our covenant of compassion and kindness.

Blane, a singer song writer is in Nashville recording his latest album, Motel Blue, a compilation of songs about love and faith. .

In reverence for putting into practice the covenant of respect for oneself, animals and mother earth, Sim Shalom is an advocate of the global Meatless Monday Campaign. The initiative promotes abstaining from meat one day a week to protect personal health and the health of the planet.
