“The Bride Of Christ: The Bridegroom and His Bride”: an examination of the correlation between the ancient Jewish wedding ceremony and Christ’s relationship with the Church.
“The Bride Of Christ: The Bridegroom and His Bride” is the creation of published author, Christopher W. Hussey. Chris Hussey is the senior pastor of Abundant Life Community Church. He has ministered there for almost twenty-two years. He was born again in August of 1983 at twenty-five years of age. At thirty, he left the sheet metal business to attend Bible College. He later went on to receive a master’s degree. He has been in the ministry since 1988. In 2001, however, the wind of the Holy Spirit blew into his heart. From that moment on, Chris radically pursued God’s presence and power. He has been zealously and intimately pursuing his Bridegroom, the Lord Jesus. This book flows from the intimacy of that relationship.
“Right from the very beginning in eternity past, God had planned history with His Son having a bride, a companion that would co-reign with Him and enjoy Him forever. That is the eternal purpose of God in creating a bride for His Son. If you read the Scripture from cover to cover, you would discover that God teaches us in a variety of different ways. Sometimes God uses powerful word pictures, sometimes He uses symbols, sometimes He uses examples of people both good and bad. Sometimes God uses a direct word, an authoritative word, sometimes He uses examples from nature, like a tree planted by the rivers of water that will not cease to bear fruit.” --Christopher W. Hussey
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Christopher W. Hussey’s new book examines why both Jew and Gentile called the Church the Bride of Christ.
“The Bride of Christ” is a phrase that describes the kind of relationship the Faithful can have with Jesus. God is seeking willing lovers, who would voluntarily seek His heart, voluntarily surrender to Him, and voluntarily love Him with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. “The Bride Of Christ: The Bridegroom and His Bride” discusses how God used the ancient Jewish wedding ceremony to draw an analogy between Christ the Bridegroom and His Bride the church.
In the ancient Jewish tradition, the father chose the bride for his son. The father would pay the bridal pride. The bridegroom would snatch his bride and bring her to the bridal chamber. The bride would then co-reign with the bridegroom in their household with the bridegroom as the head. The same relationship exists between Christ and the Church.
