CHICAGO (PRWEB) November 01, 2017 -- Threadless today announced the new Artist Shops Accelerator program, set to distribute $100,000 between four Artist Shops in 2018. The goal of the Artist Shops Accelerator is to support and grow the selected shops as they sell and promote unique, independent designs offered on items from the full catalog of Threadless products. The Artist Shops Accelerator is helping shape the future of artist-driven commerce by providing leadership, mentorship, and promotion to entrepreneurs and business owners looking to monetize their art and build a strong brand.
Launched in 2015, Artist Shops by Threadless is a white-label platform where anyone can launch and customize their own ecommerce store. Threadless handles all manufacturing, order fulfillment, and customer service, allowing shop owners more time to focus on building their own brand. In under two years, Artist Shops has grown substantially, with over 100,000 users spanning 120 countries. The limited apparel items originally offered have since expanded into a full lineup of prints, home decor, accessories, and clothing styles.
“We created Artist Shops to give artists an easy way to share and sell their work,” said Jake Nickell, Founder and CEO of Threadless. “Every change that we make to our business model has been to help artists make more money. Now, we want to help even more artists grow and develop their shop into a fully functioning brand. Through our funding and our mentorship, over the course of one year we’ll be growing these Artist Shops into self-sustaining, thriving businesses.”
The Artist Shops Accelerator program is open to new and existing Artist Shop owners. There are minimum requirements to apply and a formal application process, whereby entries are accepted until December 31, 2017. The final four shops selected to participate in the Accelerator program will be notified on January 20, 2018.
Threadless Artist Shops is the only platform of its kind that allows shop owners to set their own product prices and keep all customer information including email addresses, while also paying artists the most money comparatively from each sale. Users are also actively encouraged to promote their Artist Shop using Threadless’ proprietary tools on the platform. Threadless publishes weekly Creative Resources that offer tips and guidelines to running a successful Artist Shop.
Artists, schools, sports teams, libraries, authors, video game developers, YouTubers, comedians, nonprofits, activists, small businesses, and anyone interested in launching an online store are encouraged to visit http://www.artistshops.com and sign up to launch a shop.
