Presidential Welcome and Inspirational Leadership Lessons Kick Off AAL's Exceptional Executive Leadership Program at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia
Atlanta (PRWEB) November 06, 2017 -- The Academy for Academic Leadership (AAL) hosted the 2017 Exceptional Executive Leadership Program (ExcEL) for Women October 8–10 at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. During the two-and-a-half-day workshop, participants engaged in hands-on training and mentorship to enhance their personal and interpersonal leadership skills.
ExcEL’s tailored curriculum was built on participants’ leadership competencies and addressed topics critical to the growth of high-impact leaders, including personal leadership evaluation, organizational conflict management, emotional and social intelligence, mentorship planning, power dynamics, the development of a personal leadership philosophy, and the development of goals and an action plan.
On the evening of Sunday, October 8, after an inspiring welcome address by Dr. Elizabeth Kiss, President of Agnes Scott College, participants enjoyed a keynote reception and speech titled “Lessons in Leadership & Life: Making an Impact in All the Right Ways” from Susan B. Hitchcock, Founder of the Turknett Women in Leadership Seminar Series, Creator of the Age of SHEroes Project, and Immediate Past President of the Agnes Scott College Alumnae Association.
This year’s ExcEL for Women facilitators were Dr. Marcia Ditmyer, AAL Senior Consultant and Associate Professor in Residence with Emeritus and Assistant Dean for Assessment and Instruction, University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Dental Medicine; Dr. Carol Aschenbrener, AAL Senior Consultant and former Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at the Association for American Medical Colleges (AAMC); and Dr. Felicia Tucker-Lively, Director of Professional Development for AAL.
