Setting a price record for the upper Bel Air neighborhood, Los Angeles-based ANR Signature Collection announced today the $19.25 million sale of 1910 Bel Air Road, an 11,805-square-foot estate overlooking the Stone Canyon Reservoir and with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Teles Properties’ Ernie Carswell & Partners was the listing broker.

ANR purchased the home – constructed in 1951 – from singer/actress Della Reese, who lived there for 30 years and starred in the popular TV drama “Touched by an Angel.” When acquired by ANR in 2014, the residence spanned 5,844 square feet, not including a 2,600-square-foot indoor swimming pool.

As part of a comprehensive, multi-million-dollar makeover and expansion, ANR reimagined the home into a warm contemporary estate, converting the swimming pool area into a grand scale chef’s kitchen, family dining area and lounge. The home now features a second floor six-room master suite as well as six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a guesthouse, theatre, gym/yoga studio, ocean view lounge, infinity edge pool, outdoor dining pavilion, grill courtyard, motor court and dual double garages. Additional highlights include disappearing motorized sliding walls, wire-brushed oak floors and rough-hewn stone walls, which blend into the natural setting of the estate. Rees Studio was the architect for the home and Masa Studio handled interior design.

According to Agustin Rodriguez, president of ANR, the property – with an outstanding location in the heart of Los Angeles and views evoking Italy’s Lake Como – had not been updated in decades. “Located in one of the country’s most exclusive neighborhoods, the home was transformed to reflect its impressive setting,” he said. “The two most expensive homes listed in the U.S., $250 million and $350 million respectively, are both in Bel Air and both front prestigious Bel Air Road.”

Other ANR Signature Collection homes now on the market in Los Angeles and listed by Teles Properties’ Ernie Carswell & Partners include 7100 La Presa, an 8,142-square-foot home with sweeping views across L.A.’s skyline from downtown to Santa Monica Bay; 1317 Delresto Drive, a 9,680-square-foot home in Beverly Hills Post Office with city views; and 10542 Fontenelle Way, a 6,409-square-foot home facing outward to Stone Canyon featuring a garden courtyard with mature shade trees. Another ANR Signature home which is being listed in November is located at 2184 Mandeville Canyon. This home is 9,500 square feet and will be listed by Santiago Arana of The Agency (
