Three co-founders of Shotspotter, Inc. (DE) announced that they had filed a $6.5 million dollar lawsuit against Shotspotter, Inc. The lawsuit was filed in California Superior Court, Alameda County as case number HG17881440 Baxter et. al v. Shotspotter.
The lawsuit filed today asserts that Shotspotter breached the contract with its co-founding inventors by categorically failing to pay co-founders for nine U.S. Patents that are at the heart of Shotspotter’s commercial gunshot detection and locator business. The lawsuit further asserts that Shotspotter has violated the unlawful prong of California’s Business and Professional Code §17200 (including securities fraud).
