(PRWEB) November 08, 2017 -- SAE International is pleased to announce the details for three keynote sessions and a roundtable discussion at the SAE 2018 Government/Industry Meeting taking place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., USA on January 24-26, 2018. The Government/Industry Meeting unites government policy makers and regulatory agencies with academia and ground vehicle industry representatives to discuss the effect of government action and regulations for safety, emission control and energy conservation on the future of light and heavy duty vehicle development.
The Government/Industry Meeting will open with a keynote address from Mitch Bainwol, CEO of Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers Inc on Wednesday, Jan. 24. Bainwol will summarize what Americans think about the auto industry, innovation, mobility, MPG and more, according to national public opinion polling conducted monthly by the Auto Alliance.
Consumer Technology Association President and CEO, Gary Shapiro, will give the Wednesday, Jan. 24 lunch keynote address. Shapiro will speak on "Our Connected Future" covering the latest in mobility innovations that are connecting us to each other more safely and efficiently than ever, changing our lives for the better.
The keynote luncheon address on Thursday, Jan. 25 will be given by Carl M. Cannon, the Washington Bureau Chief of RealClearPolitics. Cannon has covered every presidential campaign and major political convention since 1984 and received the two most prestigious awards for White House coverage. He will provide insight on what's to come in Washington in 2018.
On Thursday afternoon, the roundtable discussion will address advanced environmental and safety technologies and how best to encourage customer adoption. Jake Fisher of Consumer Reports will act as the session moderator. Panelist include Austin L. Brown of UC Berkeley, Alexander Edwards of Strategic Vision Inc., Wesley L. Lutz of the National Automobile Dealers Association, and Christopher Reed of the Nissan Technical Center NA, and David S. Zuby of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
