Golf Academy of America Players to Compete in Tee It Up for the Troops Tournament
DALLAS (PRWEB) November 08, 2017 -- Golf Academy of America announced today that 11 players from its Dallas campus will compete in the Tee It Up for the Troops golf tournament scheduled for Nov. 9-10, 2017. The fundraising event, which coincides with Veterans Day, is designed to honor the sacrifices made by those who have served the United States.
For the third year in a row, the tournament will be held at Dallas’ exclusive Bent Tree Country Club, located at 5201 Westgrove Drive, Dallas, TX 75248. This year’s tournament is entirely sold out.
Golf Academy of America in Dallas will send 11 players to compete in the tournament. Of the 11, six are current students, three are graduates, one is both an instructor on the Dallas campus and a graduate of Golf Academy of America in San Diego and one is a PGA instructor on the Dallas campus. All are military veterans, and each will play in a different group.
The event will begin on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a David Feherty dinner buffet and live auction. On Friday morning, both players and non-golfers can help themselves to a delicious brunch buffet. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 11:15 a.m., and at 12 p.m., the tournament begins with a shotgun start. At the conclusion of the day, immediately following play, an awards ceremony will take place.
“It is so important to us at Golf Academy of America to honor our military veterans, especially on the Dallas campus, where more than 30 percent of our population has served in the armed forces,” said Mike McDonald, Campus President of Golf Academy of America in Dallas. “Our students, alumni and staff are very excited to be participating in this year’s Tee It Up for the Troops tournament at Bent Tree Country Club, and we look forward to participating in more events in the future.”
