KW Realtor Ryan Devin Showing Care for Caregivers of ALS Patients
Denver, CO (PRWEB) November 13, 2017 -- Realtor Ryan Devin, founder of the Devin Team at Keller Williams Realty, is hosting a donation drive for the ALS Association Rocky Mountain Chapter in honor of National Family Caregiver Month. A Caregiver for an ALS patient is an incredible resource to those affected by ALS and the families going through the disease with them. They step in as the disease progresses and becomes even more challenging for the family and the needs of the patient increase. With skill, they take on much of the day to day caregiving responsibilities allowing the family time to focus on being together.
Pampering-type items for caregivers can be dropped off at Keller Williams Realty, 350 Indiana Street, Suite 300, Golden, CO 80401 through the month of December. Items needed include fuzzy socks, slippers, robes, any gift cards and items more directed towards male caregivers, such as sporting tickets, electronics, etc.
“ALS is such a challenging disease for the entire family to go through. Its effects are quick and devastating. As it progresses, so much of the family’s time is spent caring for the sick; however, with a caregiver, they take over such a large burden of care for the family and allow them the opportunity to focus on spending time together,” said Devin, whose father passed away from ALS in 2012. “My father’s caregiver, John, became a part of the family and took such good care of him during his illness. We could not have gone through it without him.”
ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. It is 100 percent fatal. The mission of the ALS Association is to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.
