Maritz Motivation Solutions Lists Top Reward Redemptions for the 2017 Holidays
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) November 15, 2017 -- If you are making your holiday list and checking it twice, you may redeem your loyalty program rewards points for gifts, according to Maritz Motivation Solutions, a leader in providing loyalty programs to U.S. and global companies. According to a 2017 Maritz study, 54% of consumers use loyalty programs to gift during the holidays and 8% use rewards points exclusively for gifts.
Maritz Motivation Solutions identifies the most popular products for rewards redemptions based on analysis of redemption patterns and the behavior of reward program participants, combined with research and insight on market trends. Maritz merchandisers and buyers routinely track the top items, categories and brands that customers shop. Senior buyer Mike Donini outlines the top items for redemption this year in key categories.
Electronics – Consumers want “anything Apple,” Donini said, especially the hottest new items, which are the Apple Watch Series 3, Apple 4K TV and the latest iPhones. In addition, a new category of mixed reality headsets has launched from Lenovo and other brands. “These merge real and virtual worlds where physical and digital content co-exist and the new headsets are more affordable than previous virtual reality systems,” he said.
Toys – Technology that includes augmented reality is hot this season, according to Donini. The Mattel Ultimate Justice League Batmobile Vehicle and Figure is on the majority of hot toy lists for 2017.
Home – Air fryers are the hottest segment in small electronics and their popularity is expected to continue into next year. “Consumers want to eat healthier and are responding positively to this frying method that uses little or no oil,” Donini said. The demand for robotic vacuums is growing rapidly as they have evolved with advanced technology, smart home connectivity and more design and functionality options. “Acceptance and trust in robotic vacs have improved exponentially,” he said.
Outdoors – “Yeti dominates this holiday and is built for the outdoors,” Donini said. Popular items include hard coolers, soft coolers and drinkware.
Fashion – Luxury accessories are popular, including items from Burberry, Michele, David Yurman, Tiffany and Breitling.
Consumers shopping for rewards can also find products that may be difficult to find in stores, such as wireless earbuds from Apple and Bose. For those in participating loyalty programs, the Maritz online reward site is offering deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday featuring savings up to 50% on top brands including Bose, Keurig, Dyson, Mattel and Samsung. Shoppers can choose from headphones, Bluetooth speakers, sound bars, smart TVs, toys, vacuums, tools, deep fryers, griddles, blenders and more.
