Year Up Greater Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Department of Commerce, and PIDC to Host “Sourcing Untapped Talent and Closing the Opportunity Divide” Event
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) November 15, 2017 -- Year Up Greater Philadelphia, a year-long workforce development program for underserved young adults, has announced its partnership with the Philadelphia Department of Commerce and PIDC, Philadelphia’s public-private economic development corporation. Together, the organizations are hosting an event entitled, “Sourcing Untapped Talent and Closing the Opportunity Divide” to support the city of Philadelphia’s efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in the workforce.
Through this event, major employers in the Philadelphia region will learn about the benefits of supporting untapped talent in the workforce. Specifically, Year Up will offer insights into its innovative approach to talent development, as well as how the organization assists employers in sourcing young talent through internships and trained hires. The event will include four keynote speakers, including Joseph Coyle, Executive Director of Year Up Greater Philadelphia, Kenyatta Johnson, Councilman for the 2nd District of Philadelphia, Harold T. Epps, Director of Commerce for the City of Philadelphia, and Prema Katari Gupta, Senior Vice President, Navy Yard Planning & Real Estate Development at PIDC.

The event will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Courtyard Philadelphia South at the Navy Yard from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
