LiziCards Merges Tradition and Technology with Launch of Mobile App and Online Store
BOSTON (PRWEB) November 20, 2017 -- LiziCards, the first greeting card company to offer customizable, high-quality paper greeting cards that allow the user to upload both voice-recordings and personal photos through a mobile app, launched today with a selection of cards for the holiday season and special occasions. The Boston-based startup is poised to change the way that people purchase and mail greeting cards by merging the traditional greeting card with a personalized experience on a mobile app.
“Every one of our cards is designed by award-winning graphic designers and artists, made with the highest quality materials, and assembled by hand by our talented and creative assembly team here in Boston,” said Gyongyi Dalnoki, founder of LiziCards. “We then mail the greeting card directly to the designated recipient or to the user, depending on their preference.”
“I wanted to provide people with a simple way of sharing special messages with friends and loved ones. Individuals can create a personal card on their phone or computer in minutes, and in a few short days that card is being opened and enjoyed by the recipient. The ease of use makes sure no one will forget to recognize someone’s birthday or anniversary again. You could design and mail a card to your grandmother while you’re riding the subway to work.”
LiziCards is named after Gyongyi’s two-year old daughter Lizi. Soon after Lizi’s birth, Gyongyi wanted to send a customized Christmas card to her parents back in Hungary and found the available options to be both limited and of extremely low quality. Further, no card provided the option of recording a personalized message.
“Since I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I decided to make it myself,” continued Gyongyi. “I studied economics at university, not creative design, so this was a bit of a challenge for me, but I’ve always been good at crafts and I was sure I could get it done. That card took me over a week to make, but when my parents opened it, saw pictures of Lizi and heard her sweet voice cooing and babbling, it was well worth the effort.”
However, Gyongyi did not expect the card to evoke such an emotional response from her parents. “Being such a close-knit family, I call, Skype or Facebook with my parents almost daily, so they see and hear Lizi constantly. When they told me that they kept the card on the mantle for months after Christmas and whenever they walked by they would open it to hear Lizi’s voice, I realized I had come up with something special. LiziCards was born.”
LiziCards launches with a selection of cards for a variety of occasions, including Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s, birthdays and new baby announcements. Additional cards will be added to the LiziCards store over the coming months, with an ever-growing variety of designs to meet every holiday and occasion.
Gyongyi’s goal: “To make the most personal and best quality greeting card on the market, while providing a customer-friendly and simple experience that puts a smile on both the face of the person sending the card, and the person receiving it.”
