Kenmode Precision Metal Stamping has expanded its team in quality, production, project management and distribution by hiring two new managers and promoting three employees.

RECENT HIRES
GREG BECK, PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Greg Beck joined Kenmode after 26 years in metal stamping at Ultra Stamping and Assembly, where he rose from a tool and die apprentice to plant manager, production manager and quality manager. As Production Supervisor at Kenmode, he is responsible for production scheduling, including metal stamping and secondary operations, as well as working with other departments on internal and external corrective action. He has an associate degree from Rock Valley College, where he completed his apprenticeship training.
JOHN DOERR, SENIOR QUALITY ENGINEER
An independent consultant in ISO quality system compliance since 2006, John Doerr also has extensive experience in manufacturing management. At Deringer-Ney, he was Director of Quality from 1997 to 2006 and became Plant Manager in 2003, responsible for profit and loss of welding and stamping operations. At Kenmode, he works with customers and suppliers on quality issues, conducts internal audits for ISO compliance, and collaborates on quality improvements in production methods. He has a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from Eastern Illinois University and has completed Six Sigma Black Belt training as well as ISO assessor training.
PROMOTIONS
TERRY HANDEL, SUPERVISOR, PROJECT MANAGEMENT
A project manager for Kenmode since 2012, Terry Handel was promoted to Supervisor of Project Management, which handles all new client projects. In this position, he manages a team responsible for meeting customer demands for rapid prototyping, faster turnaround of new product development and improved processes. Before joining Kenmode, he was master planner for Cast Aluminum Solutions and earlier was production supervisor. He was a project engineer and manufacturing engineer at ITW’s Paslode/Industrial Fastening. He holds a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering from Iowa State University and a certification in project management from Loyola University of Chicago.
TIM JOHNSON, SUPERVISOR OF WAREHOUSE AND DISTRIBUTION
An employee of Kenmode since 1998, Tim Johnson has risen from set-up operator in production to various positions in the warehouse, handling materials and supplies for the pressroom. He was promoted from Assistant Supervisor to Supervisor of Warehouse and Distribution, where he oversees incoming and outgoing shipments of raw materials, products, and secondary operations from suppliers, as well as import/export shipments and web-based shipping scheduling. Before joining Kenmode, he worked in material handling at a plastic injection molding firm. He attended Elgin Community College and holds certifications in EMT and forklift instruction.
TOM LAZANSKY, DIRECTOR, QUALITY ASSURANCE
Tom Lazansky has been a Kenmode employee for his entire career, spanning 33 years, most of which has been spent in the quality inspection lab. He continues to oversee day-to-day operations of the lab and is now responsible for the Quality Management System. He manages a team of 15 people, who handle all customer quality issues. His team conducts first piece, in process and final inspections and secondary operation verifications. They also compile and monitor quality data in metal stamping production. He attended Elgin Community College and has completed training in such subjects as blueprints and Statistical Process Control.
