“The Second Voice: The Voice Of The Prophet” is the creation of published author, Steve Ebner. Steve has been a Christian seeker for forty-five years. He began his ministry as an evangelist at age fifteen. He has pastored churches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. For nearly three decades, he has been a claims adjuster specializing in helping people recover from hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, and other catastrophic events. He considers his work to be “ministry with a checkbook.” Steve holds a degree in biblical studies from Geneva College and a Master of Divinity from Drew University.
“Listen . . .Can you hear it? Among the thundering din of the status quo there is a voice speaking . . . Not the voice of the one who seeks to maintain the power and control of those in power and control . . . Not the voice of those who want to take over the power and control for themselves . . . It is a gentle breeze . . . It whispers through the mighty blast of those impressed with their own majesty . . . It speaks to a majesty beyond the mundane petty hubris of the powerful . . . It is the second voice . . . the prophetic voice . . . the voice of God . . . And it comes through those we have tried to silence.” --Steve Ebner
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Steve Ebner’s new book shows the importance of listening to unheard voices in the quest to know God.
“The Second Voice” teaches that it is not the task of mankind to choose a theology and weave it into truth. It is the task of the faithful to uncover what is true then weave it into a theology. People are finite creatures seeking relationships with an infinite God and seeking a deeper understanding of an infinite God. In order to grow in faith and knowledge of God, it is essential to listen to others who also know something about God.
Unfortunately, people tend to listen only to those who they agree with. This tendency stands in the way of growth. “The Second Voice” is the voice that stands against the status quo. It may be the voice of the prophet. It might be God speaking in unexpected ways through those who might otherwise be dismissed. Whatever it is, it should be heeded.
