WinterGlo Festival in Grand Rapids, Minn., Kicks off Winter with Family Fun and Holiday Activities
GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. (PRWEB) November 27, 2017 -- Businesses and attractions in the Grand Rapids area are joining forces to celebrate the start of winter through a three-day WinterGlo Festival. Family friendly events kick off Friday, December 1, with a wide range of events for people of all ages. WinterGlo includes special events, holiday shopping and activities to help residents and visitors make the most out of Minnesota’s frozen season.
Many WinterGlo activities are free. All are family friendly. Key WinterGlo Highlights include:
Friday, December 1:
- 10 am: Holiday Market at Central Square
- 4 pm: First Friday Art Walk
- 5 pm: Santa Claus lighting the lights on Central School Park
- 5-6:30 pm: Special events, including selfies with Santa, horse drawn wagon rides, caroling, snacks and warmup by a fire pit, and other activities
- 6 pm: Madrigal dinner at Sugar Lake Lodge (Grand Rapids A Capella Choir performance at 6 PM, feast at 7 PM)
- 7:30 pm: John Berry Christmas at the Reif Performing Arts Center
Saturday, December 2:
- 9-11 am: Breakfast with Santa at Central Square Mall
- 10 am – 4 pm: Santa’s workshop in Central School
- 10 am – 4 pm: Skiing, snowboarding and tubing at Mt. Itasca
- 10 am - 4 pm: Christmas in the logging camp at the Forest History Center
- 10 am – 4 pm: Holiday bazaar at St. Joseph’s Church
- 10 am – 6 pm: Holiday Craft Market, Central Square Mall
- 10:15 am – 1:15 pm: Warm winter stories and crafts at the Grand Rapids Library
- Noon – 4 PM: Pictures with Santa at Central Square Mall
- 1-5 pm: Free admission to the Children’s Discovery Museum
- 6 pm: Madrigal dinner at Sugar Lake Lodge (Grand Rapids a cappella choir performance at 6 PM, feast at 7 PM)
Sunday, December 3:
- Noon – 4 pm: Pictures with Santa at Central Square Mall
- Holiday shopping and various activities continue through the day in Grand Rapids
