Brittney Palmer Announces "No Agency", an Art Show + Shop at Art Basel 2017
MIAMI (PRWEB) November 29, 2017 -- Art Basel is hosted every year in Miami, Florida, and it brings about the most sought after artists around the country to showcase their newest collections. 2017 Art Basel is set to defy all previous years as far as working within the same lines and pushing extraordinary creative boundaries. At the head of this movement and much-anticipated show is Brittney Palmer’s “No Agency” exhibition, an Art Show + Shop in the heartbeat of Art Basel. Palmer will present five other thriving artists alongside her in the gallery. Those artists include Tonia Calderon, Lee Taylor Jones, Tanya Ragir, and Dan Alva. Each have their own unique gifts as artists but yet all fill the same mood and will be delivered at the showing of “No Agency” on December 7-10th, 2017. Graffiti wine will be on site pouring their delicious red, whites and bubbly with their monochromatic unique art inspired bottles and tray pass aperitifs for all the VIP art lovers to enjoy.
About Brittney Palmer: Brittney Palmer is an American contemporary artist known for her vibrant portraits and abstract pop icons. She studied classic portraiture at UCLA and attended Brentwood Art Center. Her use of bold color and gestural emotion commands the attention of many prominent collections today. Her paintings have been exhibited worldwide in X Contemporary and Conception Art Basel Miami, 2016. I Remember Faces, 2016 AC Gallery, L.A., AMFAR in Milan and she is the resident artist of the W Hollywood. Brittney’s work has appeared in Complex, L.A. Confidential, Esquire, Playboy, and FHM to name a few. Most recently Brittney has been commissioned by Reebok to design clothing for UFC’s International Fight Week in Las Vegas.
About Tonia Calderon: (Born July 12, 1987) A Mexican-Dutch-Indonesian painter and designer. She began her art with lyrics written through hand-painted images in 2006. Her work is featured at the Tupac Afeni Shakur Museum in Atlanta, Georgia and was a featured artist at The National Museum of Contemporary Art in San Francisco, California. Her work is also on display in some of the top recording studios/ record labels in the country. Celebrity collectors include Alicia Keys, Sean “DIDDY” Combs, Shaquille O’Neal, Eva Longoria, Rita Ora, Rob Kardashian, Swizz Beats and the list goes on.
About Tanya Ragir: Tanya was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. By age fifteen she
was honing her skills in drawing and sculpting the human figure. Her studies in anatomy even included sketching cadavers at the USC medical center. Ragir also studied many forms of dance: modern, jazz and ballet. She was performing in a ballet company before attending college. This extensive dance background continues to inform Ragir’s sculpture practice. After graduating, from UC Santa Cruz in 1976 with a B.A. in Art and Dance, Ragir began working in the commercial mannequin industry as a figure sculptor and eventually founded her own mannequin business, she simultaneously maintained a fine art practice. Ragir’s sculptural work is now internationally collected and resides in permanent museum collections as well as private collections.
About Lee Taylor Jones: A contemporary artist and graphic designer known for his unique geometric
paintings and graffiti art. Drawing on experience as a trained apparel designer and street artist,
Lee Taylor Jones’ work is also heavily influenced by a background in graphics and fashion, with
a penchant for clean lines and structure. As a Los Angeles Native, Lee Taylor Jones was inspired early by the LA street art movement, as well as Picasso’s famed Cubism era. Today, Jones resides in Hollywood and creates in his Geraldine Collective studio in Los Angeles’ Arts District.
About Dan Alva: Born in 1984, American artist Dan Alva comes from a Spanish background of fine artists. Based in Miami, Alva’s works are a hybrid of mixed media and pop culture influences, often with subversive undertones. Alva has been working as a creative in Advertising for over 10 years, and many of his pieces are inspired by his experiences in the industry.
