“Introduction to Coding” Provides High School Students Foundational Knowledge and Skills

We built the Introduction to Coding course with rigorous content and the belief that every student should have the opportunity and tools to develop technology and coding skills regardless of the career path they choose to pursue.

Edgenuity, a leading provider of online and blended learning, is excited to announce an Introduction to Coding course, available for all high school students at its customer schools nationwide.

The Introduction to Coding course is an opportunity for students to learn foundational knowledge and skills in the field of computer science. Through hands-on projects and written assignments, students gain an understanding of the operation of computers, Internet fundamentals and programming. Lessons covered in the course include:

  • Introduction to Programming: Algorithms; programming design; using flowcharts and pseudocode
  • Write and Test Code: Functions, procedures, arguments and parameters; internal data representation; resources for programmers; testing and fixing code
  • Program with Lists and Loops: Conditional statements; use iteration; encode and decode text; debugging a problem

Computer Science Education Week is an annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to take interest in computer science.
