OFMOS, a New Board Game That Makes Business Fun for Families with Teens, Will be Available for Pre-order Later in December
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) December 05, 2017 -- OFMOS, The Business Big Picture Game, brings together fun and useful foundational business concepts for families with teenage kids, as they prepare for the future. With a minimalist design and simplistic rules, the upcoming board game is set to become a family favorite, supporting experiences that range from abstract play to simulation and meaningful conversations around the dinner table. Knowledge-unifying umbrella for parents and instructional scaffolding for kids, the game encapsulates a high-level explanation of how individuals, companies, and economies work.
The context is simple, yet wide-ranging, as described in the instructions: “You are the CEO... Hired to run a company, you will oversee its expansion, restructuring, and orderly closing… You will enter and exit multiple markets, introducing and retiring several products. With the overarching goal of making the most of your initial resources, you will make the sum greater than its parts… But you are not alone… Your performance will be compared to that of your opponent, a fellow CEO, who is engaged in a similar quest. Same goal, same resources, different company… In direct competition with some of the products in some of the markets, you will both strive to generate as much cash as possible, which is the only measure of success that counts in the end… The CEO with the most cash on the table wins… Think Big, and Good luck!”

And the same report 'What the Future of Work Will Mean for Jobs, Skills, and Wages' states that “an increasing percentage of activities that workers will do in the future will be in categories such as managing and leading other people and interacting with others, which require skills such as social and emotional sensing and reasoning, and applying creativity and collaborative problem-solving. These skills are often not part of the formal curriculum in traditional school programs.”
“Be the CEO” is the premise of the game OFMOS, which will be available for pre-order later in December 19 on Kickstarter. OFMOS is a strategy game that simulates the act of running a corporation over an extended period of time. Pitting against each other two players, the game is abstract in nature, suitable for adults and teenagers alike, with or without business experience. As fellow Chief Executive Officers or CEOs, the players are commissioned with starting and growing their respective companies, restructuring them, and then closing them by orderly exiting business entirely. Their overarching goal is to return the highest amount of cash at the end of the game. As a measure of the overall performance, the most cash will indicate the best CEO, the winner.
