Right at Home San Fernando Valley Helps Bring Alzheimer’s Awareness to the Big Screen
SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, Calif. (PRWEB) December 15, 2017 -- Right at Home San Fernando Valley, whose in-home care services include Alzheimer’s and dementia, recently sponsored the film “Broken Memories,” a drama that deals with the topics of Alzheimer’s and its impact on a struggling family. “Sponsoring this event helps raise funds to provide and enhance care and support to all affected and to help increase awareness of the Alzheimer’s disease,” said Lourdes Simons, CEO of Right at Home San Fernando Valley.
The poignant film, which was recently screened at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills, CA, was sponsored by five home care services owners, including Right At Home San Fernando Valley. All proceeds benefited the Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles, whose mission is to improve the lives of local families affected by Alzheimer’s/dementia by increasing awareness, delivering effective programs/services, providing compassionate support, and advocating for quality care and a cure.
In “Broken Memories,” when a caregiver is hired to help she begins to rebuild the bridge between father and son as the old house begins to resemble a home once again. “The message of the movie is that it’s OK to have all those feelings of guilt, frustration, and confusion because it’s part of the journey,” concluded Simons.
